Dollars Available to Grant 

The Community Foundation of Chippewa County's 2017 - 2018 Grant Cycle is now open!  Dollars that are available for discretionary granting through Unrestricted, Field of Interest and Board Grant Funds and are made possible through the generosity of fund holders and donors throughout Chippewa County.  Last year, the Foundation awarded 48 discretionary grants ranging from $250 to $10,000 each.

In addition, the Northwestern Bank School Mini-grant Fund has $3,000 available for granting to schools throughout Chippewa County that allows students to engage in motivational, innovative or service learning activities.  In 2016 -2017, 14 Mini-grants were awarded to Chippewa County classrooms up to $250 each.

Grants are awarded to qualified 501 (c) (3) charitable organizations (school & government agencies are considered the charitable equivalent) and must be used within the following calendar year.  The application, grant guidelines and the list of grants available can be found on this website on the Grants tab.  For questions, or help with the application process, please contact the Foundation at (715) 723-8125 or email grants@yourlegacyforever.org.

Applications must be received by 5:00 PM Friday November 3, 2017.  Please mail or drop off a signed copy to the Foundation office (P.O. Box 153 or 404 1/2 N Bridge Street, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729).  Applications are available on the Grants tab or following this link.  Once completed, you must do a save-as to your local computer, attach it to an email and send to grants@yourlegacyforever.org.

Community Foundation of Chippewa County Grants & Distributes over $375,000

Because of the exceptional generosity of donors in our area, the Community Foundation of Chippewa County is pleased to announce that $376,103 was disbursed in the form of grants and distributions to-date this year, benefiting local communities throughout Chippewa County. This total does not include distributions from Restricted Pass-through funds (capital campaign projects).

The Foundation professionally manages over $15 million in assets and is the trusted steward of over 248 funds created by individuals, families, organizations and businesses for charitable investment in our region's communities. Annually, disbursements are based on a portion of investment earnings from Endowment Funds and other gifts received.

In addition to disbursements from Designated, Donor Advised and Agency funds, the Community Foundation awarded discretionary grants, with funding made possible through earnings from Field of Interest and Unrestricted endowment funds, as well as the Board Grant Fund and donor directed Pass-through funds. Discretionary grants support projects including, but not limited to, the areas of: cultural arts, education, environment & conservation, health & human services, parks & recreation and youth.

The Foundation is also pleased to announce that fourteen (14) projects within nine (9) Chippewa County schools received funding from the Northwestern Bank School Mini-grant Program in 2016-17. Since 2004, Northwestern Bank has provided funding for Mini-grants to be awarded to 3rd - 8th grade teachers in the public and private schools throughout Chippewa County.
