"I first learned of the Community Foundation when I applied for and received a Northwestern Bank-Mini grant when I was teaching. After I retired two of my friends who were involved in the foundation asked if I would be interested in serving on the Board of Directors. Carol Gienapp was the first executive director of the Community Foundation of Chippewa County and her husband, Dr. Gary Gienapp, a longtime veterinarian in Chippewa Falls. The Gienapp Family Endowment Fund is a family affair that continues today with the involvement of their children and grandchildren, creating opportunities that strengthen the Chippewa County community today and for generations to come.

On June 16, we gathered for the Community Foundation of Chippewa County’s Society Social, a special event dedicated to honoring our Founders, Guardians and Heritage Society members.

As we reflected on the generosity, vision and commitment of those who helped shape our foundation 25 years ago, we were reminded that meaningful change happens when people invest in something greater than themselves.
