This unrestricted fund allows the future Community Foundation board of directors to spread a little sunshine among people, like Donna did so well on a daily basis.

Donna always had a sunny disposition and brought genuine kindness, smiles, and laughter into the lives of others. Her husband, Bob, admired all the things she did for others when no one was watching. She had a natural ability to engage perfect strangers in friendly conversation. Born and raised in Iowa, Donna came to Chippewa Falls with Bob in 1984. Donna always liked Chippewa Falls. She loved the friendly people and the true sense of community. Bob and Donna's belief in support of the Community Foundation was made evident in 2003, when they became members of the Founder's Society, which recognizes those who made generous gifts to secure the Foundation's original operating funds.

Sadly, Bob, his family, and the Chippewa Falls community lost Donna to cancer in September 2023, when she was just 57. Bob decided that an endowment fund was a perfect way to remember Donna.
