Cornell Stacker Pass-through Fund was established to accept donations and process disbursements for the care of, maintenance, and refurbishing of the pulp wood stacker in Mill Yard Park within the City of Cornell, WI.
Cornell's historical wood stacker, is located in the Mill yard park on Bridge Street & Park Road. The 175-foot monument was designed and constructed in 1911-12 for all logging purposes. The Stacker represented the switch from the storage of pulpwood in water log booms to massive piles on land. The Stacker ceased operations in 1971, a victim of obsolescence brought on by modern hydraulics and an economic slump in the paper industry. Cornell is preserving the Stacker, the only wood stacker of its kind in the world, as a memorial to America's lumber industry and Cornell's heritage.

So it stands, the Cornell Pulpwood Stacker is the only known example of this type of paper mill machinery remaining in the United States and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. An important technological innovation, the Stacker mechanized the labor-intense task of stockpiling logs. The landmark is a source of community pride and constant reminder and of the great logging industry that dominates this part of Wisconsin.

This Pass-through Fund was established to support maintenance and refurbishing of the Pulpwood Stacker.
