Doris Vennard Nursing Endowment Fund

The Doris Vennard Designated Endowment Fund was established to support the next generation of nurses from Chippewa County, Wisconsin. Created with a deep understanding of both community needs and educational barriers, this fund provides scholarships to worthy and financially needy residents pursuing a one- to four-year degree in the nursing profession.

This endowment is dedicated to helping students for whom higher education might otherwise be out of reach. Scholarship funds may be used to cover all educational expenses related to their program costs for nursing. The Scholarship support continues throughout a student's chosen program as long as they maintain a passing grade point average and funds remain available.

Priority is given to applicants who have no access to other scholarships and whose families are unable to provide financial support. Eligible recipients include high school graduates, post-secondary students, and adult learners who meet the requirements and are committed to a career in nursing.  The Chippewa County Public Health Department is committed to carrying on Doris' legacy and manages the scholarship application process.

The Doris Vennard Nursing Scholarship reflects her commitment to strengthening the local nursing and public health workforce. By reducing financial barriers, this endowment expands educational opportunities and helps ensure a healthier future for the Chippewa County community.

Doris Vennard Nursing Endowment Fund, is a Designated Fund that was established for the purpose of awarding scholarships to Chippewa County High School Graduates who are pursuing undergraduate degree in the Nursing profession.
