The library has two funds with the Community Foundation: an endowment fund and the pass-through building fund.
Our Pass-through Fund
The library's building fund is a pass-through fund established to manage funds raised for the library's renovation and expansion project.
It is meant to be a temporary fund in use while we run a capital campaign to fund the building project.

Grants provide scholarships to graduating seniors of Chippewa Falls Senior High School through the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District Foundation.
As the food service supervisor within the Chippewa Falls school system, Dolores Barnier had the opportunity to work with kids of all ages in the elementary, middle, and high schools. "She spent many years with the students and enjoyed interacting with them on a daily basis," shared her son, Jim Barnier.
"It was important to me to create this endowment to provide scholarships to those who need extra financial help to obtain a higher education."
Scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors of Chippewa Falls Senior High to pursue higher education at a four-year college or university, a two-year technical college, or a continuing education program.
This fund was established to provide scholarships to worthy and needy Chippewa County High School graduates who are pursuing a degree in the nursing profession. The Department of Public Health accepts the applications and oversees the selection committee.
Dr. Bresina spent most of her life working in the field of education. She started this fund to help K-12 Chippewa County students who want to obtain a Catholic education. Dr. Bresina feels that financial challenges should not obstruct a student from receiving an education they desire.

Grants support agencies and institutions primarily serving the City of Chippewa Falls, with projects, programs, and services related to public libraries, public parks and recreation, youth, senior citizen welfare, animal welfare, and community health. Edwin and Evelyn Nyhus were lifelong Chippewa Falls residents. They both lived over 100 years and were honored by their children with the establishment of the Edwin and Evelyn Nyhus Centennial Endowment Fund.

Mac never owned a home in Chippewa Falls. He spent his career in the U.S. Army, traveling all over the world. But Chippewa Falls was home to Mac in every sense of the word.
He returned here to be with friends later in life, and in an effort to preserve his memory and share his life-loving spirit, Ann Lindsey-Gordon and Cathy Lindsey-Brown established this fund.

One of the area's best-known families is that of Harold and Marian Hunt of Chippewa Falls. Their son Dan, said, "The Hunt Family Endowment Fund was set up by the family to provide a way for us to join together in an effort toward giving back to the community. The Howard L. and Joanne M. Olson Family Endowment Fund will provide grants to support annual events, such as Pure Water Days and the Bridge to Wonderland Parade, sponsored by Chippewa Falls Main Street Inc. With a strong commitment to community, the Olson's established a fund that would forever benefit the hometown they loved.
Through the thoughtful insight of Gaylord Howard, longtime resident of Chippewa Falls, his bequest created the Irvine Park Endowment Fund," said Bill Faherty, former Director, Parks, Recreation and Forestry.
"This fund is in addition to the William Irvine Endowment Fund that supports the Park. Both funds support improvements of Irvine Park to benefit the people who utilize the park and the animals who call it home."
Unlike the William Irvine Fund, the Irvine Park Endowment Fund provides opportunities for others to continue supporting Irvine Park by growing the fund with contributions.
Dave Gordon and Ruth Gough, along with their spouses Ann and Sheldon, created this fund in memory of their parents. An Unrestricted Fund, grant-making will be at the discretion of the Foundation Board of Directors to benefit Chippewa County.
Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company Employee Endowment Fund
Grants support organizations recommended by employee fund advisors.
Even after we are all gone, the Leinenkugel employees will still be giving to the community.
"This Donor-Advised Fund is the perfect thing for our organization," explained Mary Schnobrich, Leinie Lodge Director, on why this fund was started.
In the past, the Leinies employees chose a charity to support with Christmas gifts, but were open to considering a way to increase the impact of their giving. The employees liked the idea of being able to start something positive that will last forever. Their thoughts were summed up by Mary, "Even after we are all gone, the Leinenkugel employees will still be giving to the community. That's really cool."
There are very few in the Chippewa Valley who are unaffected by Peggy and Jake's generosity.

Kiwanis Club of Chippewa Falls Peggy Rathbun Memorial Endowment Fund
Grants provide scholarships for students pursuing a technical education.
Peggy Rathbun was a talented and dedicated technical education teacher at Chippewa Valley Technical College. After her illness and untimely death, her family worked with the Chippewa Falls Kiwanis Club to establish a Scholarship Fund. Preference is given to graduates from McDonell or Chippewa Falls Senior High Schools attending school within the Wisconsin Technical College system. The fund was transferred to the community foundation, where Peggy's memory will be honored each year by awarding a scholarship to a deserving student.

Lake Wissota Improvement and Protection Endowment Fund
Grants support efforts to preserve Lake Wissota and protect its surroundings, enhance the water quality, fishery, boating safety, and the aesthetic value of Lake Wissota as a public recreational facility.
When she learned that the Community Foundation did not yet have an endowment that addressed literacy issues, she stepped forward to provide the seed money to start this seedling fund. After hearing a Literacy Volunteer worker say that 14% of her Chippewa County neighbors could not read to their children, read a newspaper, their prescription medication bottles, or fill out a job application, Nancy Hebert knew she had to do something.
Grants support Literacy Chippewa Valley to support Chippewa County services and programs.
Lloyd and Arnetta Eckes and their seven children have started this Designated Fund in memory of all former employees of the Chippewa Shoe Factory (1903 - 1984).

Born cognitively and physically challenged, Luke had many challenges in his short life. But in his life, he gave so much to those who surrounded him.
From a giggle that made everyone laugh and feel good, to a cuddle that made you feel that you were the best person on earth. He taught determination, acceptance, and the ability to love unconditionally. Luke passed away unexpectedly in October 2005. Devastated by the loss of their son, Charles and Vonnie wanted to find a way to keep his memory alive. They established the Luke Bathke Special Education Endowment Fund to benefit students with disabilities between the ages of 4 and graduation who are in special education programs.

Our Nawakwa Connecting Youth to Nature Campaign Pass-through Fund
In addition to the Our Nawakwa endowment fund, this non-endowed, pass-through fund is used to accept donations for specific, near-term improvement projects. Donations processed through this fund are disbursed for the purchase, management, preservation, and improvement of Our Nawakwa.
The Patricia Quigley-Anderson Endowment Fund was established by Patricia's children in honor of their mother.
Patricia was a graduate of Marquette University with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Upon graduation, she married Dr. Gerald Quigley. Together, they started a dental practice in Boyd (later moving the office to Chippewa Falls) and raised 8 children. After Gerald's death in 1975, Pat married Wayne Anderson and continued to work as a Dental Hygienist for several dentists in the Chippewa Falls/Eau Claire area until retiring in 1992.
Recognizing that teaching good dental health was always a priority in their mother's life, the family has designated grants to be used for dental health care and education.
Beginning as a seedling fund, this now fully-endowed fund gives perpetual support to the Chippewa Hockey Association, Kids on Ice, Chippewa Falls Youth Baseball & Softball, Family Support Center, and Open Door clinic.

Robert "Rusty" Gilles Youth Agricultural Scholarship
Scholarships will be granted to people ages 17 to 25 in the Cadott school district area who attend or participate in agricultural-related courses, conferences, seminars, or training opportunities.
Rusty Gilles envisioned a place where people could make wonderful memories. Inspired, he founded a 400-acre agricultural recreation facility in Cadott. There, he and his wife Judy guided thousands of people on horse-drawn rides amid Wisconsin's natural beauty. For 23 years, they provided unforgettable experiences. So that experiences like these may continue, the Robert "Rusty" Gilles Youth Agricultural Fund was established in memory of Rusty by Judy Gilles and their son, Mark.
Robert and Frances Bowe and Fred R. Bowe Memorial Fund
Raised on a dairy farm in Chippewa County, Fred Bowe developed a love for the land at an early age. An avid outdoorsman, he spent many hours hiking, fishing, and talking about farming with his friends and relatives.
With this in mind, his family created the Fred R. Bowe Memorial Endowment Fund to support nature-related endeavors in Chippewa County. When their mother, Frances Bowe Scheidler, passed away, memorials were added to the fund since she had also enjoyed fishing and nurturing the land in her garden.
In working with the community foundation, the family found a meaningful way to commemorate the lives of two people with a deep respect for nature and the land. This will be their lasting memory of their mom, Frances, and brother Fred.
In memory of Bonnie Senn, her family supports charitable organizations with the granting power made from this endowment as a tribute to her life and the impact she made.

Warren and Virginia's daughter Mary and her husband Jerry Jacobson started this fund in honor of her parents' 60th wedding anniversary.
Mary and her five siblings remember the precious time with their family during not only joyful, festive times, but also during difficult, tragic times.
"How blessed I feel to have received the gifts of love, faith, and charity from my parents!" Mary exclaims. "I love witnessing their deepening love for each other as they age. They are great examples of wisdom, faith, dignity, perseverance, humor, and devotion."
Mary and Jerry felt the best way to honor them was to establish a fund in their names that would support what has always been important to them - youth.
