Lake Wissota State Park Endowment Fund

The Lake Wissota State Park Endowment Fund was established to ensure the long-term vitality and success of Lake Wissota State Park. Created by the Friends of Lake Wissota State Park (FLWSP), this Agency Fund is dedicated exclusively to advancing the park's mission-driven goals and sustaining its operations for generations to come.

The Endowment supports a wide range of interpretive, educational, historical, scientific, and recreational initiatives that enhance the visitor experience. Funding helps provide engaging programs, educational exhibits, special events, volunteer support, staffing assistance, facility development and maintenance, general operations, and natural resource management.

All projects are thoughtfully planned and carried out in collaboration with Wisconsin DNR park staff, ensuring that improvements align with the park's long-term vision. Recent accomplishments include the construction of a new nature trail boardwalk and updated park signage, including educational and historical displays at the scenic overlook.

The Friends group also coordinates popular programs on birding, bats, dragonflies, pollinators, and animal tracks for both children and adults. Signature events such as the First Day Hike, Candlelight Snowshoe/Hike & Ski, and the annual State Park Open House bring the community together year-round.

Through financial support, partnership, and volunteerism, the Endowment helps preserve and enhance Lake Wissota State Park for all who visit.
