Marcus Myrman and Marcene O'Brien-Myrman Family Endowment Fund

"Though neither of us has lived in Chippewa Falls our entire life, we feel this is where our hearts are. We find it to be an amazing, caring, forward looking community. We wanted to be identified with an organization that focuses on the needs of our chosen community both now and in the future."

The Endowment Fund is unrestricted and will benefit areas of great need throughout Chippewa County.

"Initially, we had   intended to earmark our funds for activities involving youth. After further consideration, we opted for an Undesignated Endowment Fund.  We are confident that a board of community minded people will be in charge of our funds and make the most appropriate decisions, in perpetuity, for Chippewa County at large."

Though Mark Myrman's hometown is Chippewa Falls, he graduated from Chetek High School and attended Superior State. After serving four years in the Sea-Bee's in the U.S. Navy, he remained in the Los Angeles area for 42 years. Thirty of those years were spent with the LA County Sheriff's Department.

Marci graduated from Central High School, Red Wing MN and attended UW-River Falls State College. While there, she received certification for lower elementary education. Marci, a lifelong volunteer, set up Chippewa County Head Start and was the Volunteer Coordinator for Eau Claire County mental Health Association. The couple has a combined family of nine adult children.

Unrestricted giving is a chance for a person to do the greatest good. The Foundation directs these funds to where they can have the greatest impact. Unrestricted gifts address current priorities and bring immediate benefits to the community as a whole, taking advantage of unexpected opportunities and meeting necessary challenges.

Funds are used for grant-making at the discretion of the Foundations Board of Directors.
