This scholarship pass-through fund was initiated by the New Auburn School District to provide scholarships to its students.
"Scholarships are another way of spelling hope in the eyes of students pursuing academic goals beyond high school," said Brenda Scheil, an agriscience instructor and FFA advisor.
District Administrator Scott Johnson said, "People can feel comfortable about where the money is going to benefit students in their postsecondary years.
The Community Foundation provides professional fund administration for the School District Scholarship Fund, ensuring that each scholarship is managed responsibly and in alignment with donor intent. The New Auburn School District creates scholarship applications, oversees the application process, and selects recipients, ensuring that awards are distributed fairly and effectively.
Under this School District Scholarship fund, individuals, families, organizations, and businesses have established scholarships that are also awarded by the District.
Establishing a scholarship is a meaningful way to make a lasting impact on the lives of New Auburn students. Scholarships can honor a loved one, celebrate a family legacy, support a specific field of study, or reflect the values of a business or organization. By creating a scholarship, donors help remove financial barriers, encourage academic achievement, and open doors to post-secondary education and career opportunities for deserving students.
People can donate to the pass-through fund to support scholarships that are paid out that same year, or they can donate to the Endowment Fund that accrues investment earnings.
