The Youth of Lake Holcombe Endowment Fund

"What's great about the Community Foundation of Chippewa County is that it is a vehicle for anyone to realize and achieve their philanthropic goals. It is possible to make a difference in what you are passionate about."

Compassion radiates from fund holders Dennis and Jeanne Boisvert as they talk about the care and concern they have for the youth and the community of Lake Holcombe.

Active members of a community they love, they seized an opportunity to do more. Many years ago, the Boisverts (with the help of several friends and neighbors) began a golf tournament, "Swinging Fore a Cause,"to raise funds for worthy projects and programs that would benefit the area youth. With the growing success of the event, the Boisverts and their fellow committee members knew that it was time to take the necessary steps to invest in the future of the youth in Lake Holcombe in a more permanent way.

Dennis and Jeanne approached Kent Pickerign, Assistant Vice President of Northwestern Bank- Cornell Branch, to partner with them and "Swinging Fore a Cause" in creating an endowment fund for the youth of Lake Holcombe.

The Youth of Lake Holcombe Endowment Fund was created through a very generous personal gift of $5,000 from Dennis and Jeanne Boisvert and a $5,000 matching gift from Northwestern Bank in memory of George Sutor, Sr. as well as a portion of the proceeds from the 2011 "Swinging Fore a Cause" Golf Tournament.

Grants support programs involving Lake Holcombe youth, both inside the school and community programs outside of school.
