In 1906, William Irvine, a prominent businessman in Chippewa Falls, had a dream to establish a reserve that would enhance and protect the Chippewa Valley environment. His dream has come to be known as Irvine Park, a recreational resource and source of pride for Chippewa Falls. Endless opportunities of activities and attractions are available for park visitors to enjoy year-round because of William Irvine. From sporting activities to nature hikes; a zoo of exotic animals to indigenous game; picnic areas to play areas; there is something for everyone to experience at Irvine Park. The residents of Chippewa Falls and visitors have been fortunate to have free access to a park as beautiful and well kept as Irvine Park. It is because of the historical and present generosity of individuals, that we have the local gem for all to enjoy.
As history repeats itself, with continued generosity, the Community Foundation is pleased to be stewards of a gift from William Irvine's Trust. This enduring gift created the William Irvine Endowment Fund. A designated endowment that will assure the enjoyment of the recreational resource of Irvine Park for generations to come. This Fund supports the maintenance of the Park with annual disbursements made to the Chippewa Falls Parks and Recreation Department in William's name. All because William Irvine had a dream that someday Chippewa Falls would have a park with enough natural beauty, space and silence to atone for the noise of the city. A place of restoration for a tired mind or body. A place that will forever bear his name and be supported by a enduring gift of endowment.

William Irvine Endowment Fund, is a Designated Fund that was established to support the City of Chippewa Falls Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department to aid in the maintenance of Irvine Park.
